There is hereby levied and there shall be collected a one percent local sales and
use tax within the city, as provided by the Municipal Sales and Use Tax Act, V.T.C.A.,
Tax Code ch. 321, as well as an additional one-half of one percent economic development
local sales and use tax, and an additional one-half of one percent to reduce the ad
valorem tax rate, for a total local sales and use tax of two percent.
